Typically, this time of year, we are planning our Annual Awards Gala. We are sending out sponsorship packages, requesting donations for the silent auction, planning catering and entertainment and mailing invitations.
But this is the new normal, at least for the short-term, and we are postponing, and may eventually cancel the Gala for this year, like so many other nonprofits are doing currently with their events.
However, the mission of Claremont Heritage is not suspended, and the costs of running the organization continue, even if our traditional fundraising efforts cannot.
Without the Gala, Claremont Heritage will miss its fundraising goals to ensure that the mission is met and expenses are covered. The Gala accounts for about a third of the fundraising goal for the fiscal year. In addition, funds from rental events at Garner House will not be realized.
That is why the Board of Directors is reaching out to our members and supporters to request your financial assistance at this time. We are cutting costs where we are able, including reduction in hours for personnel.
Please help us to continue the mission of Claremont Heritage to preserve the City we all love so much. My wife, Karen, and I will make an additional donation to Claremont Heritage to help sustain the organization and its mission.
